About our refurbished vintage items

Our items are sourced for their style, quality and character, however as with all vintage pieces they may come with signs of their previous life, in the form of minor dents/scratches/fading which have not been removed during our refurbishment process.
Pieces may have undergone some small cosmetic repairs and/or structural restyling to create improved functionality whilst also retaining the vintage character.
All items are lovingly created with care and attention to detail.
Expect a high quality hand finished vintage item as opposed to a factory finished new item.

What products do you use to refurbish and restyle your items?

All items are cleaned and refurbished using a variety of furniture cleaners, waxes and oils. Each product used is selected for its suitability for the specific type of wood, its condition and the desired finish, with the aim of enhancing the natural woodgrain and character of the piece whilst also offering some protection to the surfaces.
Where I have created a hand painted design to the item, I mainly use 'Fusion' mineral paint, which I've selected for its hard wearing durable qualities. It's made using 100% acrylic resin and gives a nice matt finish topcoat.
Fusion paint is
- non-toxic
- lead free
- virtually odourless
- zero VOC (volatile organic compounds)
- free of other chemicals commonly used such as ammonia and formaldehyde

How will I care for my item?

Your furniture has been treated to offer resistance against normal everyday use, however proper care and cleaning will ensure it continues to look its best for many years to come.
The ‘Fusion’ mineral paint, wax & oils used on your furniture becomes fully 'cured' (hardened) between 21 and 30 days after application. Once cured it provides a highly durable and resistant surface.

For general care & cleaning;
Soft lint free cloths are recommended for dry dusting or lightly dampened to gently wipe clean the surface if required. Always gently dry afterwards.
Always protect surfaces with coasters if placing drinks on it.
Sponge spills away immediately and dry the surface with a clean dry soft lint free cloth.
Avoid using spray furniture polish.

How will my item be delivered?

Unless specified otherwise in the item description, your item will be personally hand delivered to ensure it arrives safely.
Within 24 hours of purchase I will contact you to arrange a suitable delivery day within the specified time scales.
More often than not, your item may well be delivered earlier than the time scales displayed if possible.
Upon delivery you will be given time to inspect the item and asked to sign for its receipt, confirming that the item is in good order and as described and displayed in the Vitalized Vintage online shop.

Can I return my item? (Returns policy for hand delivered items)

We hope you will be very happy with your order, however, you may contact me to request to return your item up to 14 days after it is delivered.
Any order you wish to return must be in the exact same unused condition as when delivered.
Any damage which has occurred to the item whilst in your possession will result in it being non returnable. In the event a return request is agreed, the item will be collected by myself to remove the risk of damage by courier.
A collection charge identical to the original delivery charge will be incurred by the buyer & will be deducted from the refund.
Once the item is satisfactorily returned, your refund, minus both the original delivery charge & collection charge, will be processed within 14 days.

Commission pieces

Items that are commission pieces, made especially in the style requested by the buyer can not be returned.

Can I return my item? (Returns policy for items delivered by post)

We hope you will be very happy with your order, however, you may contact me to request to return your item up to 14 days after it is delivered.
Any order you wish to return must be in the exact same unused condition as when delivered.
Any damage which has occurred to the item whilst in your possession will result in it being non returnable.
In the event a return request is agreed, the item must be securely returned in the original packaging materials. Please ensure you select a suitably insured and tracked delivery service as any items lost or damaged in transit will be the responsibility of the buyer.
Once the item is satisfactorily received by myself, your refund (minus the original delivery costs) will be processed within 14 days.

What happens if my item is found to have been damaged during delivery?

All items received to yourself by postal delivery must be opened and checked for any damage within 24 hours of receipt.
If in the unfortunate event you find that your item has been damaged in transit, please contact me within 24 hours of receipt with a description of the damage along with photos of the damage and the packaging.

Can I cancel my order?

You may cancel your order, however, If you cancel an order after the item has already been dispatched for delivery, the cost of delivery is non-refundable.
